Setting up Freshman Business Pathway Discovery day

Ruffin & Grincuis will collaborate with the Freshman Academy teachers Slinde & Bingham to set up a day for Freshman students to explore the content in our business classes through interactive activities.

Logistics
March  27 & 28 All the freshman students will be escorted to the small gym.

Set up each day

Opening Presentation- Ruffin & Grincuis

Student-managed stations
Station 1: 3D Printing
Station 2: Virtual Reality
Station 3: Khoots (Business content trivia)
Station 4: Financial Football
Station 5: Coding
Final station: Student interest index cards

Materials needed

  •  A brochure outlining both pathways (Ruffin's MOS students)
  •  Create invites for Freshman (Ruffin's MOS students) add group #'s 
  •  Fact Sheets for each station- All students 
  •  Create Khoots (Business trivia) (Mrs. G's students)
  •  Student index cards
Ruffin will contact gym teachers to confirm gym for both days.

This took the entire PLC we also reached out to Mr. Clemons and he has offered to help us finish this form.

    •  Senior: Personal Finance (Dual Credit) & Business co-op
  • Added a new pathway "Management & Entrepreneurship"
    •  Freshman: Digital literacy  - Bingham
    •  Sophomore: MOS & Ethical Leadership -Ruffin & Clark
    •  Junior: Business & Marketing essentials Dual Credit & Intro to Management -Gringuis
    •  Senior: Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance, & Co-op-Comstock & Ruffin
  • Added a Hybrid Pathway "Computer Programming Blended Hybrid
    •   Freshman: Dig Lit
    •  Sophomore: Intro to Programming

All courses will be performance based except for the following:

  • Financial Literacy and all the "Programming  courses"

All teachers will fill out a performance-based request form for each of their courses.
Dual credit will be offered through JCTC for the following courses:

  •  Business & Marketing essentials
  •  Personal Finance
Potential dual credit courses 
  • Entrepreneurship 
  • Ethical Leadership
High school to business will be put on the back burner for now. We will discuss this pathway next year.
